The Corona crisis – an opportunity to rethink the food value chain
INVISIBLE FOODS

INVISIBLE FOODS
We make lost food visible
1/3
of all produced food ends up in the trash instead of on our plates.
1 trillion
dollars is the value of the annually wasted food worldwide.
25%
of our drinking water is used to grow food that is never eaten.
We aggregate and predict food loss, support companies in creating new upcycled products and reward efforts to reduce foodwaste with a data-driven certificate. Together, we save food along the production and supply chain.
Potential purchasers of surplus food

The Problem
Huge quantities of high-quality food end up in the bin, because:
-
Optical quality deficits
-
Harvest surpluses
-
Market disruptions e.g. COVID-19
-
Supply chain disruptions e.g. container delays
-
Reject in production processes
Mission Visible
Zusatzerlös für Händler und weniger Kosten für Einkäufer
Statt Obst und Gemüse in der Tonne, könne zusätzliche Umsätze generiert werden und Abnehmer können Ausgaben reduzieren.

In these areas we focus our efforts
Mediation
Based on smart technology we want to make the mediation via our platform of food as easy as possible.
Financial Returns
Instead of food in the bin, additional sales can be generated and customers can reduce expenses.
Transparency
By capturing data about food waste alongside the supply chain, it can be avoided from the very beginning.
SUCCESSFUL TRADE DEALS

CHOCOLATE
Typically manufacturers produce chocolate bars for multiple brands. When refitting the machines for a different product a lot of chocolate still in the machine will be wasted.
Instead:
A new chocolate bar was invented, fitted to those left overs and 600.000 new chocolate bars are in stores now or 70.000 kilograms of chocolate was rescued!

VEGETABLES
There are tight standards when it comes to processing raw ingredients. but nature also provides us with non standard perfect vegetables - normally ending just in the trash bin.
Instead:
New soups, spreads and pestos have been created based on this cost-efficient ingredients and 250.000 new units produced or 40.000 kilograms of veggies saved!

PASTA
When producing pasta, there are parts of the corn pasta production, that simply are too short. Because we dont have better machines, some spaghettis are never eaten.
Instead:
A new fusilli pasta was invented, to sell 120.000 new units or reusing 24.000 kilograms of pasta in this delicious new product!
